Marshmallow Experiment

We decided to put two marshmallows in a microwave to see what happened to them. We all had to make predictions by writing out a hypothesis and then we had to write down the process of what happened. The first time we did it we burnt the marshmallows (very smelly)... don't tell Mrs Holley... The second time we did the experiment we only put them in for 30 seconds and it worked heaps better. The marshmallows blew up to four times their size while being heated. When the cool air got at the marshmallows it hardened instantly turning it into a toffee like substance. We learnt about air, water and bubble particles and how they react to one another to get this effect.
